The customer's problem
A technical test bench for the service life analysis of roller bearing components was further developed for use in medical technology. The goal was to expand the number of test positions from 10 to 12 in order to increase testing capacity while maintaining the existing operating concept.
Solution by AUCOTEAM
The mechanical design is based on a sturdy aluminum profile frame with an integrated control cabinet. The test chamber is protected by a lockable, transparent safety enclosure. Inside is a drive system with a gear mechanism that drives two camshafts. These camshafts simulate the actual mechanical loads encountered by roller bearings in medical pump systems.
The load cams run across the entire width of the test bench and are guided in bearing blocks. The test specimens are mounted in specially designed fixtures and securely bolted in place. The test cycles are designed to simulate a service life of several years within just a few weeks. The tests are performed automatically and
under controlled conditions in the test laboratory.
The technical solution enables precise and reproducible load simulation. The modular design and the integration of safety-critical components ensure reliable and safe operation. The direct evaluation of test results and rapid response to potential failure patterns support efficient quality assurance—a critical factor in medical technology, where reliability and safety are top priorities.
Key Features of the AUCOTEAM Solution
Thanks to many years of experience in test bench development, the solution was implemented and put into operation in a short period of time. The combination of mechanical precision, automated load simulation and a secure enclosure makes the test bench a powerful tool for endurance testing of medical technology components under realistic conditions.
